Last night Matt, Whit, Tannan and I went to the Radiohead show at the embarcadero downtown. This being a GA show we thought it would be a good idea to show up early, but it turned out that it really didn't matter. There were only 5,000 people there (for a RH show, that's real small) and of course the concert was amazing.
I've seen them a couple times before, but this was by far the closest I've gotten to the stage (standing equivalent of the first 10 rows) and I was a BIG fan of the a/v production. They had multiple cameras set up throughout the stage that would concentrate on a single musician element such as a guitar, microphone, drum, etc. and were synched with the lights and other projector trickery. The screens that the video was projected on were also oblong and distorted. All this just made the show that more great.
Most of the new songs they played were fantastic, slow, and dreamy - with a couple exceptions that I could have done without. All in all, I'm extremely glad we went and would suggest anyone that has the ability to catch one of only a few shows in the world during these non-tour dates.

Thanks to Jessica Benson, I am able to die. The Daily Dancer has shown us people will watch just about anything.
Okay here is my first batch post of pictures from the new camera. I took a total of 852 pictures this weekend from Gwen and Davy's wedding, a little guys' night poker, and Leigh's birthday shindig - and widdled it down. I'm still working on all the settings and attempting to shoot more manually, and some of the pictures that made the cut are various other photographers skillz (Jessica Benson, Kaz Trypuc), but this camera is already a peach to work with.

It's not you, it's me. I've changed. I just need more in my photographic life. More pixels, more functions, more lenses, and more better. Wait, wait, don't walk away - I didn't mean it like that. It's just... that... listen, this new camera - you know, the Nikon D70s with an 18-55mm 1:3.4-4.6G ED AF-S Nikkor Nikon DX lens, it works with me. It listens to my computer. It carries the load that I give it - and you know how demanding I can be. Oh we've had some good times, Sony F717. We've gone hiking in Yosemite, running with the bulls, hiking in the Swiss Alps, and oh how we've partied! But we can't just keep pretending like things are never going to change. I know this may sound demeaning, and I don't mean it to, but I'd like it if I could keep you around and use you every so often. You know, for old times. You have features and options that the D70s never will - remember how I used to tilt your lens up and take pictures of unsuspecting passer-bys? That's what I'm talking about! We'll still be able to connect like that again. Just not in the same way. I've found another, and I'm sorry. Listen, I've got to go - the D70s is asking to be taken out, but I'll be in touch, okay? I promise.

David Steele Overholt

Coast to Coast AM currently has a special guest, Patrick Heron, on the show talking about the Apocalypse, mark of the beast, Revelation, etc. and he just came up with the greatest analogy ever in reference to the antichrist. Imagine this being said by a 50 year old man with an incredibly thick Scottish accent.
I take that back, he's definitely Irish.
"...he'll be slicker than a greased eel in a bucket of hump fat."

"...Jesus would be the coolest guy around. He'd be wearing jeans and a t-shirt and havin' a beer with ya. If I met him face to face I'd buy him a pint of Guiness."

Eric put up some pictures from the IRF show at SOMA on Saturday. There's also a few pictures from the merch table in the lobby where Shannon and I were arm wrestling the kids for free IRF CDs. I ended up with a record of about 18 wins and 2 losses. This is a one of those times, but he was left handed.
And yes, I'm still sore. Thanks for asking.

I hate having to do this. Seriously. I really like this car, but it's gotta go to make way for my new tow vehicle.

Then add a flag! It's easy - just pick a place (your house, a park, a restaurant, a statue, etc) and then add a flag. This will help me create a map of places I can go on my journey. I'll be putting this on StreamDavid.com as well but wanted to get some flags on it first.
Thanks!

Last night I got ahold of Matt (in NYC) and was able to chat with him for a good 30-45 minutes and see Lizzie. The speed was amazing! At least for me it was. Matt had about a 10 second delay, so I could see him waiting for my response and then laugh, or cry, according to what I said 10 seconds ago. After our conversation I went to eat with Leigh, Kelly, Tiana and Eric - whoa. I kept waiting for a delay in "real-life". It was seriously disturbing for about the first 20 minutes. I would say "Tiana, how was the honeymoon" and then not pay attention because I thought she couldn't hear me right away. Trippy. T-r-i-p-p-y.
