Presidential wireless

For those of you that find yourselves in an airport, not wanting to pay the crazy fees from T-Mobile or whatever hot spot wireless company is supporting the airport; find yourself a Presidential Club room, sit outside the door, and Internet to your heart's desire. Cuz here I am, in Houston, doing just that.

Mexico with Hanna and Matt

About a month ago I went with Hanna and Matt to Mexico for a few hours. I just got the pics from Hanna because I lost the memory stick. :(

A weekend in Malibu

This is what you get when you go to Malibu for the weekend with Hanna. We went to Pt. Dume, Neptune's Net, The Chart House (wow), Santa Monica, drove around and hiked a bit in the mountains, and much more. Also a random stop or two along the road back home to SD. Did I mention you receive amazing hospitality and conversation from/with "Mom and Tom"? Well, you do - and here are the pics to prove it.

Pass that chronic...

Great news from Jaimie Augustine

Hello Friends and Family,

I am beyond thankful and glad to announce that I am home and cured of Cushing's Disease! I could not ask for a better Christmas gift.

Just yesterday I arrived in San Diego from Portland after spending 4 weeks recovering from surgery. Recovery is still going to take anywhere from six months to a year as I wean off of replacement steroids. Yes, I know it is very strange for a person like me to be going through steroid withdraws. Never did I think I would experience what it is like to go through withdraws like an addict, but the doctor says the harder the withdraw the better. Simply put, it means that all of the tumor was removed and that is a GOOD thing.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. I look forward to visiting with many of you again soon.
Have a blessed holiday season and I hope this new year brings you all the best.

With Love and Thanks,
Jaimie

The Epic Fridge Adventure

A couple weeks ago Mid-City purchased a huge (6'x6'x3') fridge to use for BOL. Not realizing this would be such an undertaking, Jeff, Scott, Kane, Chuck and I wheeled it down University Ave, into Chuck's truck, used the dollys as skateboards while being towed, and finally managed to man-handle the monstrosity into the Cambodian Room after 2 hours of work. There was also a bet placed during this time period between Scott and Chuck that there was or was not a a bolt that was causing the fridge to be stuck in place. Hilarious (Scott won - luckily Chuck didn't have the 20 on him).

John and Kathy's 25th Wedding Anniversary

At the request of Kathy, I've placed the pictures I took a couple weeks ago of Pastor John and Pastor Kathy Wright's 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration that we had at Mid-City. Congrats!

I'll update you.

I have a few more minutes left of my lunch break, so I thought I would do a little update to chrono my life here at DavidOverholt.com. Wow, where to begin? Quite a bit has happened over the last month and even the last week. A few highlights... on Friday after work I met up with a bunch of Loma'ers and went ice skating at Horton Plaza downtown, then Hanna, Jeff, and I went to Boudin's for dinner (after trying the hot sauce at Hot Licks that you have to be 18+ to try), then to the Panic! concert, then to Heidi's cocktail party, then out to Mission Beach to Hanna's new apartment where Nicole and Lauren were throwing a dance party. Quite a packed evening. Saturday I went with Hanna, Kaz, and Danielle to the Zoo for a couple hours (we experienced the most San Diegan thing I've ever done - the Safari Sky tour thing above the Zoo where you can see all of SD at sunset). Yesterday we had a multi-congregational service, then a potluck, then I helped Hanna and her mom pack up her room to move to Mission, back to my apartment to hang out with Chelsea and Eric, Ono Sushi with both of them and Tiana, then to Salsa with Hanna, Marrisa, and Casey. Plenty more has occured, but that's at least a brief weekend rundown. Here in the next week I'll be having 4 different x-mas parties, going to Malibu, Mexico (?), OKC, CO, and LA, finishing up a few projects here at MEA and starting a few more on my own, wanting to go to the Wild Animal Park, going to the World Beat Center, and the rest? Well the rest is up to fate. Me, and fate.

Oh ya and I've also launched Amy K Fellow's photography site. Still a few changes to make, but check out her amazing work!

Currently I'm downtown working at MEA - just finished a refresh proposal for the new Mitsubishi Electronics homepage, and this afternoon I'll be working on Kyocera and possibly some Oakley.

Panic! for a ticket

I have three tickets to the Panic! At the Disco concert this Friday, but I need one more. If by some out there chance you have or know of someone with an extra ticket I can get, let me know!

IRF Photo Shoot

On Sunday I went out with the band for a few hours (7 hours...) and took over 390 pictures for them. My goal was to get 7 good ones, and I weeded it down to these 36 that are at least worth something. A few stars for sure and a lot of duds, but overall I'm real satisfied.
