Yesterday I went out to eat at Cocina De Mino's with Brett, and I still love Tex-Mex. Then Mike Glass came over and we looked over my Sprite for a while. He said it's basically done and only needs to be pieced together. That's good! Probably 1 month's work and $2,000 and I'll triple the price (from 5k to 15k). Although he works on them all the time and I don't know what I'm doing with mine. Oh well - I'm going to try and find a British car club in San Diego and see if i can round up some help for it.
My Austin Healey Sprite MKI (Bugeye)
Last night I went up to my dad's hospital and checked out a telecommunications device by Polycom that's made purely for video conferencing - and has the ability to plug in external sources (VGA, RCA). Could be a pretty cool way to avoid getting an office and work remotely. Mom, Dad and I then went to Bricktown and ate at Spaghetti Warehouse. MMmmm good. Spicy marinara. good. Good sourdough bread. good. They gave me my birthday present, kind of. They're going to give me money to get a bike out in San Diego. It's a little bit more than they normally spend on a birthday but they want me to have some transportation - and it's good excercise. They also said they would help me out by "buying" the Sprite from me and then I can buy it back from them in a few years when I have the money. I really don't want to get rid of it, but at the same time need the money - so it's kind of like a no interest loan. I'm going to wait until I pay off CC debt first, then see about taking them up on the offer.

On the way home it started storming so I drove out to Piedmont (about 20 minutes away) and took pictures. My battery went out after a couple hours so I came home, charged it, then took more pics around the homestead. Around 1am Kris came over and we made 3 long loops around Lake O during the storm. It didn't rain until around 2 or 3am but the lightning was amazing. I'm glad I was here - Kris said it was the most they've had all year, and maybe the most he's seen in his life. It definitely was awesome. I can only compare it to the lightning storm I saw with Dad on our drive to San Diego my junior year.
You know it - that's the same bridge I almost got arrested by the FBI for taking pictures of back in November.
I'm hoping to print and frame these for our living room. We'll see. First: money. Today I took Durango to the vet with Corrie and Dutchess (her dog). She's now got all of her shots and check ups complete. Then I went out to eat with Brett - first we swung by Baskin Robbins so Brett could torment his old manager. He said he majored in Child Development but doesn't want to do that anymore so now he's driving around the US bumming money off people and wants to go to VoTech. He said "I just want to saw something" - "like a carpenter?" - "oh is that what they're calling them these days?" - "they've been calling them that for over 2000 years". All just to piss Adell off. He filled out an application and kept asking why she fired him and if she was going to hire him again. "why did you fire me Adell? Is it because I locked you in the freezer?" Then we went to Wendy's. Umm... now i'm waiting for my mom to get back so we can buy Chai Tea around here that's real good. That is all. Good day.
