OPENING CELEBRATION / FRESH & BARBARA KRUGER
DJS, VJS, PERFORMANCE ART

Celebrate the opening of Fresh, New Art From UCSD and Barbara Kruger, Twelve at the October TNT! From mock documentary to a new take on border art, the UCSD exhibition does not present a unified theme; rather, it focuses on an eclectic array of the most promising work. Seen together, the collective strength of these emerging artists' diverse work celebrates the vitality of the arts at UCSD. Artists include: Veronika Bauer, Julia Dzwonkoski, Danny Jauregui, Zerek Kempf, Tara Knight, Sharon Levy, Chungmin Moon, Jorge Nava, Ian Patrick, Ed Porter, Kye Potter, Stephen Remington, Kelly Sears, Shannon Spanhake, Sergio de la Torre, Robert Twomey, and Joe Winter.

The artists will be on hand to provide an eclectic array of sonic entertainment, including rock, Texas swing, DJs, and more. Performers include DJ Chukuchu, DJ Kaitaro, VJ Canis Latrans, Lucky Dragons, Ian Patrick, and Caleb. Performance artist Weird Shadow will use fashion and photography to develop the scenario of a shadow that's come loose from (and tries to take the place of) the form that cast it. The UCSD Dept. of Ecological Authoring Tactic, Inc. (DoEAT) will serve homemade ice cream treats on the plaza.

Attendees will also have the chance to win the new DVD, Born into Brothels, courtesy of Lions Gate Entertainment.

Admission to TNT is free to MCASD Members but a $3 donation is welcome. MCASD Downtown is located at 1001 Kettner Blvd., across from the Santa Fe Depot.
