Thursday night for dinner I went out to Point Loma for an art department faculty dinner. Quite entertaining to hear how all the classes are going, expectations, tips and insight into teaching, etc. and listen to Jim, Paul, and Karen talk about golf. Javan and I stuck around a little afterwards to talk to Jim about class atmosphere, etc. which was good. Javan's going to start working on his syllabus for the spring course now, so I think hearing what we're doing in my class helped. I did something else on Thursday after that, but I forget.
Friday is when James got in to the SD. I actually had a project interview in Solana Beach for Logo Yes through Aquent which went well - follow up on Monday. I didn't realize it, but they're partially owned by 2Advanced, so that's a cool opportunity. I also had a phone meeting/interview for a place called Emerald Publishing in Poway (through Aquent as well). They need someone with a lot of XML experience, so I'm not sure if that's up my alley or not. I don't have as much Flash/XML experience. Anyways, after I got back to Normal Heights James was here waiting, so we sat around and chatted about what we've been doing the last couple years, fell asleep for a while, and then headed out for the night. We first met up with Josh and Alison (after eating burritos at Niko's) at the Sunshine Club in OB. We were there about an hour and I spent the entire time talking to a guy named Erik that is a national marketing director for Sony Vaio. Lots of work talk. James and I then met up with Heidi and Melissa Perry downtown and spent a couple hours at Confidential lounging, then to On Broadway for another hour to get our boogie on. Note: gangstas don't dance - they boogie. Got back around 3am.
This afternoon (Saturday) I ate at the European Deli on Park Blvd. (mmmm Veggie Diabolou - with fire feta cheese and lemon spiced potatoes) and then Eric and I walked around the Adams Ave. Street Fair for a couple hours. Lots of candid pics there. After a nap this afternoon I went out to OB with Alison and Josh to a future themed party for one of Josh's coworkers. Quite a fun time - interesting people, costumes, music, and atmosphere.
