Interview - Bush Talks to O'Reilly - select Video from the Photos and Video window in the transcript to view the interview.
After watching this interview, it shows me two things:
1) Bush truly believes the course of action he takes is correct, falls in line with his moral and ethical process, and is doing the "best" for the American people
2) Bush isn't conservative enough for O'Reilly (see militarization of Mexican border, views on France, etc) which has a lot to do with his "undecided" comments on The Daily Show.
It's hard not to get so overwhelmed with either side that you hear everything from the other "camp" as constantly and overtly comical or incendiary. This kind of interview helps me, at least, see Bush as a person - instead of a monkey t-shirt or a "LIAR" poster - with values, views, opinions, and insight. And that I can understand why I differ from his decisions.
David's side note:
I think we (the Church) need to remember, along with realizing we are in a self-involved and personal-interest justifying society that is in direct contrast with the communal and love-for-neighbor teachings of Jesus, that while we may, as Christians, lean more towards the left - that the right still has views that are worth listening to. We have to listen to both sides. Of course its hard, but we also must realize a majority, I would assume, of our brothers and sisters in Christ follow the ideals and beliefs of the "right of center" - especially where the two have become indistinguishable in structure and make-up. We have to treat each side with as much criticism, understanding, and thoughtful consideration as the other, or we merely become an integrated part of the system whose power we are not under.
But O'Reilly is still an ass.
