I spent most of yesterday fairly concerned. I woke up realizing that I once again have no money, bills to pay, and not a whole lot of work in sight. Although we WILL be releasing PLEENK very soon - please e-mail me if you are a designer/freelancer and can help test!!! - but it may take a little while before we start seeing any kind of money from it. We've decided to give a basic plan away for free, then charge for upgrades. But that means we have to wait until people are familiar with the system and want to expand their horizons of Pleenkocity before they upgrade and actually give us money. Once we get a great number of people signed up it will be a great system though. We shall see... Yesterday evening consisted of watching the debates, hanging out with friends at Chelsea's, and then watching Scrubs/Simpsons until I fell asleep.
What do I think about the debates last night you may ask? Well, I feel Bush did a much better job this time when you're referencing his demeanor, character, and steadfastness, but he talked in circles quite a bit more and of course got too upset for this calm natured fool (me). Kerry gave the same great performance as last week, proving once again his years in debate and oratory training have paid off in a strong silver tongue. I think both candidates did a much better job of showing they know their constituants. Kerry came off as poised, cognitive, and assured, while Bush was strong, overpowering, and fiery. Both showed personalities that someone in their "camp" would see in a positive light. Based on content alone I believe Kerry walloped Bush, but I think a lot of viewers were probably apt to contrast Bush's performance last night with last week's, so voting for Bush as winner is almost like saying "he did much better" or he's been "working hard." Get it?... ehh....
I arrived at Chelsea's in OB to find 7 girls in a hot tub and Scott sippin some syrup in a chair outside. Within 5 minutes of tubbing, the girls were joined by a complex-mate of Chelsea's that immediately entered into a conversation with the question "so do you consider yourself a liberal or a leftist?" and you can imagine where it went from there. We all just took off. He was just looking to argue. We sat around and listened to Portishead and ate ice cream. Renee, Jenn, and Scott left around 11:00pm and then some other friends of Chelsea's showed up (Captain, Hess, Jill, Andrew, Brad, etc), but Stef didn't know any of them and I only knew some of them in briefness, so we took off around 12:00pm. I came back home, watched a Scrubs ep, then a Simpsons ep (which contained talk of Burns' alma matre: Yale University, which got me thinking of grad school which I've decided I will tentatively schedule beginning the application for in the Fall of '05), then fell asleep around 4:30am.
This morning I played tennis for a couple hours with Scott starting at 10:30am, then ate some free food and got hounded to vote by some of the community center volunteers. Sausage is no longer appetizing. And actually I haven't had meat in over a week. Look out world, I think I may have completely changed to vegetarian. It's so expensive though... :(
